What is GARRbox¶
GARRbox is a personal cloud storage service for file storage and sharing. It is an alternative to existing commercial services designed specifically for the Italian research and education community. It allows the synchronization of data between different devices, such as PCs, tablets and smartphones, and allows you to collaborate and share resources with other users and work groups.
Recipients of the service¶
It is dedicated to organizations connected to the GARR network that adhere to the Federation of digital identities IDEM. GARRbox was born for the world of education and research. It does not sell information to third parties, does not index data and in no case does it disseminate activity logs. Thanks to the Federation of IDEM digital identities, access is controlled and verified. The resources are guaranteed over time and there are no unilateral changes to the agreements. The data is kept within national borders ensuring full compliance with the laws on privacy, copyright and resilience.
